5k Gold Medal Victory: Koch Modular Employees Shine at Corporate FunRun

Koch Modular's New Jersey-based employees recently competed in a thrilling 5k Corporate FunRun at Overpeck County Park in Ridgefield Park. This marked the team's fourth year of participating in the event, reflecting the company's commitment to encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle among its workforce.

At the awards ceremony, three Koch Modular employees were recognized for their athletic achievements, with Tala Mansouri emerging as the women's overall champion. Tala's lifelong passion for fitness and wellness started at an early age, engaging in dance during her formative years and later becoming a member of the women’s crew team in college. The challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic led her to find solace and balance in distance running, making her success in the 5k race a testament to her perseverance and determination.

Tala shared her feelings of motivation and belonging while running with her co-workers, stating, "Running with my colleagues during the 5k was not only fun and motivational but also energizing. The power of community inspired me to keep going." Now, with the 5k behind her, Tala sets her sights on conquering her very first half marathon scheduled for October.

Swapan Das and Chris O'Keefe also displayed remarkable athleticism and determination, securing 4th and 5th place respectively in the men's overall category, adding an extra spark of excitement to the event and inspiring others to push their limits.

After the run, the festivities continued with an eagerly awaited party, providing a well-deserved reward for the participants' hard work. Amidst free-flowing beer, delicious pizza, and lively music, co-workers and friends mingled joyfully, savoring every moment of the fun-filled gathering.

Looking ahead, Koch Modular eagerly anticipates participating in the upcoming Hess Houston Corporate 5k with its Houston-based employees in October 2023.
