Koch Modular Process Systems designed and constructed this product purification and solvent recovery system. This five-column modular distillation system was designed to recover aliphatic and aromatic solvents, a chlorinated product and oil from various feed streams.
A solvent recovery system such as this allows for the recovery of solvents from waste streams. These solvents are then recycled, providing cost-saving benefits, saving natural resources, and complying with government guidelines for waste reduction.
Recovery efficiencies are typically around 80%, it is possible to achieve higher efficiencies too. Costs are reduced dramatically due to the reduction of waste, which would otherwise be dealt with through off-site solvent recovery or disposal.
Two (2) modular distillation systems were designed to recover/regenerate: solvents (hexane and toluene), product TiCl4, and silicone oil, from various feed streams.
